GPL is an acronym for 'GNU Public License'.
The GNU GPL version 2 is the license that TLE-BU is released under. In short, the GPL license dictates that software licensed under it must be offered free of charge and the source code must be provided on request. Users, groups or companies are free to modify the source code of a project licensed under it. If the derivative program is released to the public, it must be released under the same terms of the original project.
