 Alteeve Wiki :: Dom0

In Xen, the "host" operating system is, in fact, just another virtual machine. It is special in that it has special access to the underlying hardware and a direct view at Xen's networking. As such, it is referred to with the special descriptive name dom0. By contrast, all other virtual machines running on the Xen kernel are collectively referred to as domUs.
