DLM is an acronym for Distributed Lock Manager. It is provided as part of the Red Hat cluster service. It handles POSIX locks, known as plock, which allow for the locking of parts of a file rather than locking the entire file at once. Further, it guarantees ordered delivery of lock messages via CPG.
